{RECIPE: Apple and berry tart}

When you’re pressed for time and need a dessert that will impress you guests or just have that craving for apple pie and are too lazy to do all that work, try making this!

You an substitute any fruit you like, do try to pick seasonal fruit if possible.

Apple and berry tart

  • 1 sheet of frozen puff pastry (thawed overnight in fridge or room temp for 2 hours)
  • fruit of your choice ( I did 2 gala apples+ raspberries + blackberries)
  • jam of your choice (preferably fruit sweetened – I used apricot jam)
  • icing sugar (for sprinkling)
  • sliced almonds or pecans
  • 1 egg

Roll out the puff pastry sheet and make diagonal slits on on each corner. Brush egg wash on the edges and fold in about half an inch (to make the border). Arrange your fruit in the middle in a pretty pattern. Brush with jam and sprinkle tops with nuts. Brush top edges of puff pastry with egg wash and bake in oven at 400 for about 15 min till golden brown on top. Enjoy with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and a cup of tea.
