I’m a graphic designer/foodie/dessert-aholic/avid runner living in Calgary, Alberta who is always thinking about what I’m going to eat next. I created this blog as an outlet for my creativity in the kitchen as I experiment with food and flavour combinations. I will also share my personal dining experiences in and around Calgary (and sometimes abroad) as well as my favorite places to shop for ingredients.

My philosophy on cooking: When I cook, I don’t usually follow a recipe exactly or measure ingredients, but I’ll try my best to approximate my amounts. I use my cookbooks as inspiration and usually add my own twist to make it my own.

Why Chocolate & Ginger? Because it’s one of my favourite flavour combinations! There’s nothing better than a few squares of good quality chocolate and a hot cup of ginger tea.

My outlook on food: I don’t believe in diets or restricting myself as you can see by the numerous desserts I feature on my blog. But I do believe in a balanced diet and make sure I get in my 8-10 servings of fruits and vegetables everyday in countless un-pictured monster-sized salads and fresh juices. I also do a combination of high impact cardio, hot yoga and running/training for races about 5-6 days a week for at least an hour a day and 2 hrs on the weekends. Which allows me some extra room to eat all the decadent treats I crave 🙂

    Hi there,

I’m in the midst of organizing a Calgary Food Blogger Bake Sale to benefit Meals on Wheels and I would love it if you could participate. We are setting up our table at the next Market Collective, which is the weekend of June 19-20. If you could donate some baked goods and/or time that would be much appreciated. Let me know if you’re interested by emailing me at vwctsui [at] gmail [dot] com.

Love your blog! Food… Running… It’s like a one stop shop! The walmart (but classier) of the blogging world.

I started running this summer (not literally, distance running I guess), thinking of doing the half marathon in November… Got any tips for potential winter running? Definitely going to check out the coconut water you mentioned though!

Also, I’m putting a link up on my site to yours, hope that’s cool. Thanks!

      Hi David,

Thanks so much for your kind words, I will do a post on winter running in the next couple days here, check back soon. Yes, coconut water is pricey, but i find even doing a 50/50 mix with water is so much better than those artificial sports drinks out there.

      thanks for linking me 🙂
